what are these bingo cards about?
Spoiler Alert: It’s not about a dog or a fun gambling type game with numbers and colorful paint daubers.
How it all began…
It was the beginning of 2019 and like many, I was thinking of my intentions for the new year. I was burnt out from the type of content I was posting on social media and nothing was fun to me anymore. It literally felt like my creativity dying and I was wasting my brain so I started to think about how I could present my interest in food and our vibrant city in a more unique way. Story templates on Instagram had started to gain popularity but they were all generic and I hadn’t seen any that were specific to any cities. BOOM! I instantly got to work and made four Houston themed Bingo cards one night, posted it and the rest is history. Since then, I’ve gotten messages of how these Bingo cards have encouraged people to step outside their comfort zones to explore all the wonderful gems Houston has to offer, which is why I love to make them. I’ve started to branch out into other cities and even created more IG Templates for my followers to play with.
How they’re createD
For the Bingo cards, each has a theme with 24 spots in related to the subject with a standard free spot in the center. These spots are compiled from searching Google, Yelp, Facebook and various articles by media and public opinion. If I collaborate with a brand or person, the spots are provided to me by them.
How to play
Save from my gallery or take a screenshot from my IG stories. You can find the different types of Bingo cards I’ve created through the navigation tab and further search with the archive tags. They are also available on my IG highlights.
Cross out or circle each spot you’ve visited with the IG pen tool. Tag the business if you’d like (they love this since it potentially brings new customers & followers)!
Tag me at @juliejulez.jpg so I can see your answers. Please do not remove my name or alter the design without my permission.
Leave a blank template behind for your followers to play.
